On April 11th at approximately 2:45p.m. Hamden Police responded to a Blue Hills Avenue address on the report of a larceny in progress.

Investigation revealed that a Blue Hills Avenue resident parked her vehicle in her driveway, at which time she was approached by 2 females. The females attempted to forcibly enter her vehicle, while she was seated inside. The females subsequently fled on foot when the victim called Hamden Police.

While investigating the incident, officers learned that the 2 females were responsible for burglarizing a Battis Road residence. The homeowner arrived at home and observed the females standing in her kitchen. The females fled on foot towards Circular Avenue.

Investigation revealed that the females forced entry by cutting a screen and damaging a window frame. Once inside, they stole several items, including jewelry, electronic equipment and prescription medication.

Shortly thereafter, Officer Andrew Pfeiffer arrested the 2 females in the area of Circular Avenue and Plains Road. Several stolen items were recovered.

Hamden Police arrested the 2 females, both juveniles that reside at the Children’s Center, 1400 Whitney Avenue, Hamden. The juveniles, aged 15 and 16, were charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Carjacking, Conspiracy to Commit Carjacking, Burglary in the 3rd Degree, Larceny in the 5th Degree and Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree.
