On February 14, 2022, Detectives Jomo Crawford and Andrew Lipford of the Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Unit were conducting surveillance in regards to an ongoing shooting investigation. The detectives observed, Shikeem Graham, exiting a vehicle in the 1500 block of Dixwell Avenue and had an arrest warrant for him. Graham fled from police and was apprehended after a foot pursuit. A search of the vehicle uncovered narcotics and a stolen .40 caliber handgun that was altered & modified to shoot fully automatic.

Hamden Police arrested Shikeem Graham, 27, of Hamden. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Pistol without a Permit, Theft of a Firearm, Illegal Possession of an Assault Weapon, Illegal Possession of a High-Capacity Magazine, Possession of Narcotics and Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell. Graham was held on a $600,000.00 bond.

Graham was also charged on the outstanding arrest warrant with Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Criminal Attempt to Commit Assault 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Carrying a Pistol without a Permit. Graham was held on an additional $150,000.00 court set bond for the warrant. He is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on March 15, 2022.

The outstanding arrest warrant for Mr. Graham stems from a double, non-fatal shooting that occurred on May 13, 2021, in the 1500 block of Dixwell Avenue. James Harris and Michael Wooten were previously arrested for their roles in the shooting.

Detective Jomo Crawford of the Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Unit conducted an extensive investigation into the shooting. The New Haven Shooting Task Force assisted in the investigation.
