On February 4, 2022, at approximately 10:20 a.m., Hamden Police responded to the area of Putnam Avenue near Clifford Street on the report of a robbery / purse snatching. Investigation revealed that a 68-year-old female was walking in the area when a tall black male pushed her to the ground and ripped her purse away from her. The subject then ran from the area towards the Hamden Village apartment complex and entered apartment 120.
Herbert Davis, 34, of 120 Treadwell Street, Hamden, was arrested and charged with Robbery Third Degree and Assault of an Elderly person. Herbert Davis is being held on a $25,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on March 22, 2022.
