On 10/26/21 at approximately 10:00 AM, Hamden Police responded to the Save-A-Lot grocery store, 1125 Dixwell Avenue, on the report of a carjacking and motor vehicle accident. The 36 year-old victim reported that he exited the store and was approached by two suspects at his vehicle. One of the suspects grabbed a hold of the victim while the second suspect pointed a handgun at him. The suspects forcibly took his car keys and stole his vehicle.

The initial investigation revealed that the suspects drove through a red light at the parking lot exit and caused a motor vehicle accident with two additional vehicles on Dixwell Avenue. One of the occupants of the vehicles that was struck received minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. Police at the accident scene recovered the stolen vehicle.

Both suspects fled on foot from the stolen vehicle. They were described as two male teenagers, approximately 5’8” – 5’10”, thin builds and were wearing all black colored clothing with black facemasks.
