On February 14th at approximately 1:45p.m. Hamden Police responded to a shooting in the area of Dixwell Avenue and Putnam Avenue.

Investigation revealed that 3 occupants were inside of a motor vehicle, that was parked in the parking lot of 1245 Dixwell Avenue. An individual arrived shortly thereafter and attempted to open the passenger door of their vehicle. They subsequently fled from the area at a high rate of speed, while being chased by the individual, who was operating an “SUV type” of vehicle.

While on Woodin Street, the victims stated that several gunshots were fired at their vehicle. The victim’s vehicle subsequently lost control, near Wilmot Street in New Haven. Fortunately, a New Haven Officer was in the area. The victim’s vehicle was struck by multiple gunshots. No injuries were reported.
