On January 21, 2021 Hamden Police responded to the 300 block of Putnam Avenue on the report of a shooting.
Investigation revealed that a 30 year-old Hamden resident was shot in the leg. The victim was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment.
Detective Jomo Crawford conducted the investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Tayvon Geter. The court approved the arrest warrant application.
On February 22, 2021 Hamden Police arrested Geter, who had been taken into custody by Bridgeport Police. Geter, 29, of 132 Oakleaf Street, Bridgeport was charged with Assault in the 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Carrying a Pistol without a Permit. Geter, who was detained on a court-ordered $500,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court on May 4, 2021.
