In September 2020, Hamden Police received a complaint from a North Carolina resident regarding a larceny.
The complainant advised police that her 99-year-old aunt had passed away and that two days thereafter, the deceased’s “Goddaughter”, Georgianna Coleman, illegally withdrew $31,000.00 from her (the deceased’s) bank account.
Detective Shawn Nutcher conducted an investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Coleman. The court approved the arrest warrant application.
On January 29th Hamden Police arrested Georgianna Coleman, 75, of 117 Forest Street, Hamden. She was charged with Larceny in the 1st Degree. Coleman is scheduled to appear at Meriden Superior Court on April 1, 2021.
