On December 23, 2020 at approximately 6:30p.m. Hamden Police responded to Thai Smile Restaurant, 1505 Dixwell Avenue on the report of an armed robbery.
Investigation revealed that an individual, described as a black male, 6’, thin build, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, mask and gloves entered the restaurant and asked a female employee about menu items. He immediately displayed a handgun, while demanding money from the cash register. After stealing an undisclosed amount of money, he grabbed the female employee “around the neck” and forced her and another employee to the floor. The male exited the restaurant through the rear door.
