On January 11th Hamden Police responded to Spring Glen School, 1908 Whitney Avenue on the report of suspicious activity.

Upon arrival Officer Timothy Janus spoke with the principal of Spring Glen School and a 10 year-old student. The student stated that as she was walking from her home on Putnam Avenue to the bus stop, which is located at the corner of Putnam Avenue and Clifford Street, she was approached by a female that was operating a motor vehicle. The female, who was described as having short hair and a “sweet voice”, asked her if she wanted a ride. The female was operating a “small sedan.”

Further investigation revealed that 4 weeks earlier, the 10 year-old student was approached by a female that was operating a “white van.” The female asked her if she wanted a ride. This incident also occurred at the bus stop, located at the corner of Putnam Avenue and Clifford Street.

The 10 year-old could not identify or further describe the 2 females.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hamden Police Department Special Victims Unit at (203) 230-4040.
