On June 11, 2020 Hamden Police responded to the report of an armed street robbery, that occurred in the parking lot, located at 1890 Dixwell Avenue.
Investigation revealed that a 56 year-old Hamden resident was entering her motor vehicle, when she was approached by a juvenile that was brandishing a firearm. The juvenile pointed the firearm at her, while demanding her pocketbook and cell phone. He subsequently stole these items, before fleeing in a stolen motor vehicle.
Detective Mark Sheppard conducted the investigation, which led to the arrests of the 2 juveniles. The juveniles, ages 15 and 13, were charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery in the 1st Degree. They are both scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court on July 1st.
The New Haven Police Department provided assistance in the investigation.
