Also in April 2017, an incident in which Officer Justin Martin grabbed a 91 year-old Leeder Hill Drive resident, as he was attempting to jump off of a 6th floor building. Officer Martin was awarded the “Life Saving Award”.
A January 2, 2018 incident in which Officer Andrew Pfeiffer responded to an armed robbery in progress at Krauszer’s, 1959 State Street. Believing that the clerk was in danger, Officer Pfeiffer entered the store. He was immediately fired upon. As the suspect exited the store, he continued to fire his weapon at Officer Pfeiffer. The suspect was apprehended shortly thereafter. Officer Pfeiffer’s selfless dedication to duty and decisive actions/tactics were key elements in the arrest of a dangerous felon.
