On June 10, 2020 at approximately 7:15p.m. Hamden Police responded to the parking lot of 2300 Dixwell Avenue on the report of an attempted armed robbery.
Investigation revealed that a female was loading items into her motor vehicle in the parking lot, located near Walmart. She was approached by “2 black male teens” who pointed a firearm at her. They demanded the keys to her vehicle. The female victim refused and subsequently contacted police. The males fled in a black Nissan Rogue.
Moments later, the same individuals committed an armed street robbery in the parking lot, located at 2987 Whitney Avenue. The suspects again pointed a firearm at a female victim. The victim “screamed”, while dropping her purse and the keys to her vehicle. The suspects subsequently stole her vehicle. They engaged officers in a pursuit into New Haven. The pursuit was subsequently terminated on Whalley Avenue for safety reasons.
