On April 24, 2020 at approximately 7:00p.m. Hamden Police responded to the 2300 block of Dixwell Avenue on the report of a “male slumped over the wheel.”
Upon arrival, officers quickly realized that it was a medical emergency. Officer Gabriel Garcia and Officer Darryl Cargill promptly forced entry inside of the vehicle and rendered medical assistance. Officer Cargill successfully administered his department issued Narcan. Hamden Fire Rescue arrived and continued to provide medical attention. The 50 year-old, who was alert and responsive, was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment.
