On March 29, 2020 at approximately 1:45p.m. Hamden Police were advised of a shooting that occurred in New Haven. A motor vehicle description was provided.
Shortly thereafter, Officer Vincenzo Palma observed a vehicle that fit the description, traveling on Skiff Street. He attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop. The operator of the vehicle failed to comply. The vehicle eventually stopped, after striking a utility pole guide wire on Sandquist Circle.
The operator of the vehicle, Marquis Mcduffie was arrested by Officer Palma, after a foot pursuit. An occupant of the vehicle, Jisela Villanueva was also arrested.
Mcduffie, 34, of New Haven was charged with Interfering with a Police Officer, Reckless Driving, and Engaging an Officer in Pursuit. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 18th. Villanueva, 20, of Middletown was arrested on the strength of multiple warrants originating from New Haven.
