The Hamden Police Department is very happy to report that missing person Vitaliano Roccapriore has been located.
On March 3rd at approximately 3:00p.m. Detective Mark Sheppard conducted a “License Plate Reader” search with the assistance of the Connecticut State Police and New York State Police. Police learned that Roccapriore’s motor vehicle had traveled to New York City, Long Island and New Jersey.
Hamden Police subsequently had the statewide Silver Alert augmented to a Nationwide Silver Alert, with specific attention given to the tri-state area. Shortly thereafter, Detective Sheppard was contacted by an Officer of the Saugerties, New York Police Department.
The Officer had located Roccapriore’s vehicle “as it was running out of gas.” Roccapriore, who was “lost and hungry” was provided food and medical care. His family has been contacted.
