In August of 2017, Hamden Police were dispatched to a sexual assault complaint that occurred in the southern section of town. The Hamden Police Department Special Victims Unit was assigned the investigation.

Investigation revealed that a juvenile, under the age of 10 was sexually assaulted by a 14 year-old.

Detective Stephen Rossacci conducted an investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for the 14 year-old. The court approved the arrest warrant application.

On December 26th Hamden Police arrested the juvenile. The juvenile, who was charged with Sexual Assault in the 1st Degree and Risk of Injury to a Minor, is scheduled to appear in Juvenile Court in Bridgeport on January 9, 2018.
