On September 9, 2019 at approximately 7:00p.m. Hamden Police responded to the Hamden Plaza, 2100 Dixwell Avenue on the report of an attempted street robbery.
Investigation revealed that an elderly female was walking to a nearby bus stop, when she was approached by an individual, described as a black male, 12 years of age, short, with a thin build. The juvenile “knocked” the victim to the ground, while attempting to steal her pocketbook. The juvenile subsequently fled, when 2 bystanders attempted to assist the victim. The juvenile was last observed entering a stolen Subaru, which was driven by another person.
