On June 26, 2019 at approximately 4:00p.m. Hamden Police responded to a Shepard Avenue residence on the report of a “drowning.”
Upon arrival, Officer Elvin Rivera observed Hamden Fire Department personnel attempting to resuscitate the 64 year-old female victim. She was promptly transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment. She died shortly thereafter.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim’s husband found her “face down” in the family pool. He immediately “jumped” into the pool and attempted to keep her head above water. A neighbor also rushed to the scene to lend assistance.
