The Hamden Police Department recently completed a “Click It or Ticket” high-visibility seat belt enforcement campaign. Enforcement efforts commenced on May 20th and concluded on May 24th. Funding for the program was granted by the Connecticut Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.

Hamden Police issued 208 infractions for seat belt violations. In addition, officers issued 4 infractions and 4 misdemeanor summonses for various motor vehicle violations. Hamden Police arrested 4 motorists, who were wanted on arrest warrants.

The Hamden Police Department would like to reiterate the importance of wearing a seat belt. Our officers have witnessed, first-hand, that seat belts save lives.
