The Hamden Police Department is proud to announce the 9th session of the Hamden Citizen’s Police Academy. The purpose of this endeavor is to provide local residents, business/property owners and students with pertinent information, as it relates to the function and activities of the Hamden Police Department. The Department’s goal is to increase public awareness and build community rapport through education and conversation.

The Hamden Citizen’s Police Academy will cover a vast array of interesting topics, including: patrol procedures, major crime investigations, crime scene techniques, crime prevention, use of force, cultural awareness, ethics and integrity and a K-9 demonstration.

Applications can be obtained online on the Hamden Police Department web page or at various town buildings, including, police headquarters, town hall and local libraries. Applications can be submitted in-person, via mail or e-mailed to Captain Ronald Smith at rsmith@hamdenpd.com or Sergeant Brent Zuscin at bzuscin@hamdenpd.com. The deadline for applications is 4:00p.m. on March 22nd. Classes will commence on Thursday, March 28th at 6:30p.m. at the Hamden Police Department Training Division.
