On December 2nd Hamden Police responded to a Franklin Road residence on the report of an attempted burglary. 

Investigation revealed that Harold Cole forcibly entered the rear bathroom window of his ex-girlfriend’s residence. She and her children were “putting up the Christmas tree” when the incident occurred. The female victim instructed her children to hide, while she contacted Hamden Police. Cole then fled from the area.

On December 4th Hamden Police again responded to the Franklin Road residence. The female victim stated that earlier in the day, she observed Cole seated inside of a motor vehicle, located in a nearby parking lot. Shortly thereafter, she entered her vehicle and drove towards Hubbard Place. Cole subsequently followed her for a short distance, before colliding with another vehicle. Cole again, fled from the area.

Arrest warrant applications were submitted to the court for the 2 incidents. The court approved the arrest warrant applications. 

On December 7th Cole was arrested at Hamden Police Headquarters. Cole, 31, of 2 Treat Street, West Haven was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary in the 2nd Degree, Stalking in the 1st Degree and 3 counts of Violation of a Protective Order. Cole, who was detained on a court-ordered $35,000.00 bond, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on December 10th.
