On November 20, 2018 at approximately 4:15a.m. Hamden Police responded to Yale-New Haven Hospital (Saint Raphael Campus) on the report of a street robbery, involving a stabbing.

Investigation revealed that a 67 year-old Hamden resident was walking to work on Goodrich Street. He was followed by 2 males. The males subsequently approached him and asked him for money. They then attacked the elderly victim, while stealing four dollars from him.

Moments later, the victim advised officers that he felt “tingling” on his hand. At this point, he realized that he was suffering from a severe stab wound. A co-worker of the victim, who arrived on Goodrich Street shortly thereafter, transported him to the hospital.

The victim stated that the males had a “dark black complexion” and were in their 20’s. They were wearing brown jackets and jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hamden Police Department Detective Division at (203) 230-4000.
