On 10/31/22 at 7:30pm, Officer Giori observed a vehicle traveling on Fourth St, and heard BB gun shots coming from a vehicle. Officer Giori conducted a motor vehicle stop and made contact with the driver, Quinton Belton-Tilghman, age 20 of Woodbridge, passenger Rayshon Jacobs, age 20 of Woodbridge, and a 17-year-old juvenile passenger of Brockton, MA.

Officers recovered two knives, four BB guns and various pellet ammunition from the vehicle. Belton-Tilghman, Jacobs and the juvenile were charged with Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree, Illegal Possession of a Weapon in a Motor Vehicle, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, Illegal Use of a Facsimile Firearm and Breach of Peace in the Second Degree.

No one was injured during the incident and there was no reported property damage. Officer Giori, along with Officers from the Hamden Police Department’s Crime Deterrent Unit, were conducting high visibility patrols on Halloween to ensure the public’s safety.

Belton-Tilghman and Jacobs are scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on 11/14/2022 and were held on a $5,000.00 bond. The juvenile is scheduled to appear in New Haven Superior Court for Juvenile Matters on 11/14/2022, and was released on a written promise to appear.
