On October 22, 2022 at approximately 2:45 AM, Hamden Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Woodin Street near Rochford Avenue on reports of shots fired. Responding officers located a white BMW that crashed nearby and was unoccupied. The vehicle was struck multiple times with bullets and the occupants fled. No shooting victims were reported to police and the vehicle appears to have been specifically targeted.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit are leading the investigation into the shooting. Detectives recovered ballistic evidence at the scene.
