On September 24, 2022 at approximately 10:00 PM, Hamden Police Officers responded to the area of Butler Street and Goodrich Street on multiple reports of shots fired. Responding officers located ballistic evidence in the street and surrounding area.
Police also discovered that a gunshot victim was inside her Butler Street residence at the time of the shooting. The preliminary investigation revealed that she was struck by a bullet that penetrated the wall of her house. It does not appear that she was the intended target of the shooting. She was treated on scene and transported to Yale New Haven Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder.
Detectives from the Hamden Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit are actively working on this investigation.
