On July 17, 2022, at approximately 6:30 PM, Hamden Police Officers responded to the area of Blue Hills Avenue and Noble Court on reports of shots fired and a single vehicle car accident. Witnesses reported that there was an exchange of gunfire between an individual walking and an occupant of a vehicle that crashed at the intersection into a residential stone wall. One of the suspects fled in a small, blue SUV towards Chester Street after the shooting.
Two occupied houses were struck during the gunfire. None of the occupants inside the homes were injured. There were no reported injuries of anyone struck during the shooting.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to the crime scene. Ballistic evidence was recovered and police are following up on several leads.
