On July 1, 2022, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Hamden Police Department responded to All Town Fresh, 1941 Dixwell Avenue, on a reported larceny from motor vehicle complaint.
Investigation revealed that the victim was pumping gas, when a silver-colored SUV pulled up along the other side of her vehicle. A subject dressed in dark colored clothing and a dark hoodie over his head and face, exits the driver’s seat, ducks down, and walks over to the victim’s vehicle.

The subject then opens the passenger car door of the victim’s vehicle and removes her wallet from the front passenger seat. The subject slowly walked back to his vehicle and drives away in an unknown direction.

The Hamden Police Department would like to provide the following safety tips when fueling your vehicle at a service station:

• Always remove your keys and lock the doors while you are pumping gas
• Keep valuables out of plain view in your vehicle
• And always be aware of your surroundings
