On September 18, 2018 at approximately 11:55p.m. Hamden Police responded to the 4000 block of Whitney Avenue on the report of a “Pedestrian Struck.”
Investigation revealed that a 19 year-old Quinnipiac University student was walking on the “southbound shoulder of Whitney Avenue” with a group of friends. The Wethersfield resident was struck by a “red colored vehicle” that was traveling southbound on Whitney Avenue at a high rate of speed. It appears that the student was struck by the vehicle’s “right-side mirror. She sustained non-life threatening injuries, including injuries to her head, shoulder and knees.
Officers conducted an extensive search for the vehicle, which was unsuccessful. Witnesses believe that the evading vehicle may be a Hyundai Elantra.
