On September 10, 2018 at approximately 1:15p.m. Hamden Police responded to Burlington Coat Factory, 2300 Dixwell Avenue on the report of shoplifting. 

Investigation revealed that Zhane Flynn attempted to steal $130.00 in store merchandise. Upon the arrival of Hamden Police, Flynn fled from the store. Officer Joseph Venditto apprehended Flynn, who violently resisted arrest. Officer Venditto suffered a laceration to top of his head. He was treated at the scene by Hamden Fire Rescue.

Officer later learned that Flynn was wanted on 9 outstanding arrest warrants.

Hamden Police arrested Zhane Flynn, 22, of 1314 Quinnipiac Avenue, New Haven. She was charged with Robbery in the 3rd Degree, Assault on a Police Officer, Interfering with a Police Officer, Larceny in the 6th Degree, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny in the 6th Degree and Possession of a Shoplifting Device. She was additionally charged with respect to the outstanding arrest warrants. The charges include:  2 counts of Criminal Trespass in the 1st Degree, Larceny in the 6th Degree, Violation of Probation and 3 counts of Failure to Appear in the 2nd Degree. Flynn, who was detained on bonds totaling $60,000.00, is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on September 24th.
