7/1/2018 - 7/1/18 Fatal Hit and Run

On July 1, 2018 at approximately 2:00a.m. a 51 year-old Hamden resident was crossing Dixwell Avenue, in the vicinity of Morse Street. She was struck by a dark-colored SUV in the northbound travel lane of Dixwell Avenue. The vehicle fled after striking the victim. Investigators report that the vehicle should have "passenger side front-end damage."

The victim was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital for medical treatment. She died later in the morning.
