On May 16th at approximately 5:30a.m. members of the United States Marshal Service Connecticut Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested James Thompson at his residence, 44 William Street, Hamden. Thompson was wanted for a sexual assault that occurred in the northern section of Hamden during the summer of 2017.
Detective Angelo DeLieto of the Hamden Police Department Special Victims Unit conducted an extensive investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Thompson. The court approved the arrest warrant application.
Thompson, 18, of 44 William Street, Hamden was charged with Sexual Assault in the 1st Degree. He is being detained at police headquarters on a court-ordered $100,000.00 bond. Thompson is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on May 16th.
